COL (Ret) Michael R. St. Jean

COL (ret) Michael R. St. JeanMichael R. St. Jean, MD FACS is a graduate of Marquette University and the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences. He completed his surgical residency training at Dwight David Eisenhower Army Medical Center (DDEAMC). After training he served as General Surgery Service and Department of Surgery chiefs at numerous Army MEDDACs and William Beaumont Army Medical Center. In 2005, he completed a Minimally Invasive/Bariatric Surgery Fellowship at Geisinger Medical Center. He completed his military career at Womack Army Medical Center as residency director, Director of Medical Education and Chief, Department of Surgery. He retired from active service in 2011 with numerous combat deployments with the 28th Combat Support Hospital as well as with US Special Operations Command. Since retirement he has been involved with continued educational, speaking and training opportunities for far forward surgical care/combat casualty management.

Since 2011, he has an active clinical practice as Minimally Invasive and Bariatric surgeon at Eastern Maine Medical Center (EMMC), Bangor, Maine. His clinical practice involves all aspects of MIS, endoscopy and robotic surgery. In 2014, he was nominated to the position of Surgeon Medical Director for EMMC responsible of executive management of all perioperative surgical services. He is a member of and sits on numerous committees for SAGES, ACS and local chapters. He was recently nominated to the prestigious New England Surgical Society.
