MSS02: SINGLE DOCK ROBOTIC COMPONENT SEPARATION: RETRORECTUS MESH AND TRANSVERSUS RELEASE
Steven Satterly, MD, FACS; Womack Army Medical Center

Open component separation is a painful and robust undertaking reserved for untamed ventral hernias. The minimally invasive technique for component separation typically requires dual lateral approach and has reduced patient pain and postoperative recovery. Robotic-assisted component separation may further potentiate minimally invasive restoration of the abdominal domain. A single dock robotic-assisted approach has broad exposure, less incisions and utilizes superior suturing capability that cannot be emulated by laparoscopic approach. A prospective case series is needed.
