Jason Hawksworth, MD; Lauren Heyda, MD; Rod Mateo, MD; Eric Elster, MD; Walter Reed National Military Medical Center

We report the results of the first 5 robotic kidney transplant cases at the only US military transplant program. Prior to the first transplant case, dedicated training and rehearsal with the entire OR team was implemented to optimize the success of the program. All 5 transplants were completed robotically with a median (range) OR time of 235 min (227-405) and estimated blood loss of 25cc (25-350).  The median hospital stay was 3 days (2-3). There was no delayed graft function or ureteral complications. With a median follow up of 102 days (46-173), the median creatinine is 1.31 (1.03-1.68).
